MEDICAL ALERT (External or Internal Disaster) formally CODE Triage
Initial Actions to take when announced
In-House: Immediately report to your unit/department and ensure notification of department/unit leadership via TIGERTEXT, BCP Telephone Tree, etc.
Follow FASTCOMMAND link sent via IMT or via Internal Portal "Pulse" and select the FASTCOMMAND ICON or Link at bottom of page
Off-Campus: Call into your unit/department noting availability and best point of contact

NOTE: The Cafeteria shall be used as a Personnel Pool if required.  Personnel that are directed to report to same shall provide credentialing/contact info and await assignment

Critical Information/Points to Remember/Guidelines
The AOC/Designee is in charge of the overall response until the Unified Command is operational and will determine the need to activate a CODE TRIAGE based on input from ED/Trauma/COD, etc.
The AOC/Designee will approve the Operators to announce a "CODE Triage" overhead, activation of the IMT and EOP
The AOC/Designee will activate the Medical Command Center (MCC) via the IMT and brief key individuals on the situation
Departments/Units should initiate call up procedure per their Business Continuity Plan, send a RN, NA, Tech to retrieve patients awaiting admission from ED/TAA to their unit and setup hallway beds
Hospitalists shall round Adult M/S Units and initiate rapid discharge where appropriate
CONTROL AREAS
     Security Access Control
          Security may limit routine ingress points and direct access of victims/patients to the Benson Street EMS entrance.  They will provide an enhanced presence/monitoring
          of all Control Areas
     Medical Command Center
          Physical location MCC D-403 (856-968-7900)
          Virtual EOC via FAST COMMAND, email, tigertext, etc.
          An IMT will be established and maintained for the duration of the event.  (Personnel assigned shall report as directed)
     Personnel Pool
          If established all unassigned personnel shall report to the cafeteria to sign-in providing credentials and point of contact information
          A COD with HR support shall maintain a sign-in (HICS 253 Volunteer/Staff Registration Form or via FAST COMMAND) and update the MCC at fixed intervals as directed
          Attendings, Interns and Residents shall sign in at the Personnel Pool, noting specialty and their point of contact. They may return to their work area to assess patients for
          discharge, unless requested to report to Trauma/ED/OR, etc. 
          NOTE: This includes the designated official for GME to ascertain location/welfare of interns/residents.
     Triage Area/s
          ED/TAA with possible extension into EMS Entrance Lot for Large Scale Incidents.  Always consider potential need for decontamination!!!
